PCA will be presenting a workshop at the National Athletic Directors Conference! 

WORKSHOP TITLE: Preparing Coaches to Develop Physical, Social, and Emotional Skills of Middle School Student Athletes

WORKSHOP DETAILS:

• Date: Monday, December 18th, 2023
• Time: 9:30 AM – 10:30 AM ET
• Room Location: Crystal Salon AB

This highly interactive workshop provides coaches & leaders with the tools to build meaningful, understanding relationships with and amongst their team – and unlock the many benefits that sports can provide.  This research-based PCA workshop will demonstrate:

• Tools to unlock the full potential of sports in developing young athletes
• Understanding of how kids’ experiences impact their engagement in practices
• How to seamlessly integrate empathy into everyday coaching.

Coaches & leaders will actively participate in the workshop, including small group discussions and will practice applying the tools to real team settings. Coaches & leaders will take away tangible tools and tips, including the “PACT”—PCA’s framework for applying empathy to create an environment with their team so all kids feel safe, seen, heard, and valued.
