Elevating Our Work and Our Why: Trainer’s Institute 2025 Recap

05.31.25

From April 24–27, more than 80 Positive Coaching Alliance trainers and staff gathered at the Colorado Chautauqua in Boulder, CO, for Trainer’s Institute 2025—a weekend dedicated to connection, learning, and making a difference in youth sports.
This year’s theme, “Culture, Mental Wellness & Building Relationships,” captured the heart of what the Trainer’s Institute is all about: equipping our national training team with tools, knowledge, and community to better serve the youth sports landscape.
The days featured a dynamic mix of sessions focused on elevating PCA’s work as facilitators, leaders, and teammates. Highlights included interactive sessions lead by: Dr. Kensa Gunter, Diana Cutaia, Brett McClure, former Olympian and current Men’s High Performance Director with USA Gymnastics, as well as members of our PCA leadership team.
Attendees also took part in hands-on learning experiences, breakout activities, collaborative group sessions, and enjoyed informal moments, from engaging conversations over meals to spontaneous jam sessions and group hikes.
From logistics to learning to leadership, Trainer’s Institute 2025 was a fantastic event that helped us connect, grow, and sharpen our skills as we support schools, teams, and sports organizations across the country.
As one participant shared,
“I came here to improve my skills as a trainer—but I left with something even more powerful: a sense of purpose, connection, and belonging.”
Here’s to continuing the work and pursuing the mission of a positive youth sports experience for all.
