Jerry Porras is the Lane Professor of Organizational Behavior, Emeritus at Stanford University and co-author with Jim Collins of Built to Last: Successful Habits of Visionary Companies. His educational background includes a BSEE from Texas Western College and an MBA from Cornell University. He also holds a PhD from the University of California, Los Angeles and has received many honors including the Brilliante Award from the National Society of Hispanic MBAs. He has been a professor at Stanford since 1972 where he has served as the Associate Dean of Academic Affairs at the Graduate School of Business from 1991-1994, as well as serving as a Business School Trust Faculty Fellow.
