Dean Smith is one of the greatest college basketball coaches of all-time. Smith spent 36 seasons coaching at UNC, where his team captured two national championships and appeared in 11 Final Fours. At the time of his retirement, he was the winningest major college basketball coach in history, also claiming a Gold Medal as the U.S. National team Coach at the 1976 Olympics. His “coaching tree” includes fellow National Advisory Board Member Larry Brown.
