Winning On and Off the Field: Chicago Bears' Alumni Player Jason McKie Huddle's Up With Whitney Young HS and PCA

01.11.2021

On December 28th, student-athletes from Chicago’s Whitney Young High School gathered on Zoom for a PCA workshop that included a virtual huddle with Chicago Bears alumni player Jason McKie.

Over the course of the 90-minute session, PCA Trainers facilitated a discussion with student-athletes and coaches called “Becoming a Triple-Impact Competitor” that covered how students can impact their sport on three levels by working to improve oneself, their teammates and the game as a whole. Student-athletes were equipped with information and inspiration necessary to lead on and off the field, in the community and the classroom.

Chicago Bears Manager of Youth Football & Community Programs Gustavo Silva shared, “During these uncertain times, it’s especially important to give student-athletes tools and resources to continue to engage in self-improvement. The PCA Triple-Impact Competitor workshops have been tremendously beneficial in providing that for participating student-athletes by reinforcing the importance of having a growth mindset, controlling the controllable, and being process driven.”
