Congratulations to the local 26 student-athletes who embody the Triple-Impact Competitor model of making themselves, their teammates, and their sport better!
Tampa— Positive Coaching Alliance - Tampa Bay – the local chapter of the national non-profit Positive Coaching Alliance (PCA) that develops “Better Athletes, Better People” through youth and high school sports – has named 26 Tampa Bay area student-athletes from the high school Class of 2021 as winners for the Triple-Impact Competitor® Scholarship Awards Presented by Sagicor Life Insurance Company.
“This year we had our largest-ever applicant pool which has made the scholarship very competitive and selective,” said Mason Cathey Brady, Executive Director of PCA - Tampa Bay. “The Class of 2021 winners are exceptional, and we look forward to the spring portion of our program.”
PCA aims to show student-athletes how to use their athletic leadership platform to benefit others. Selected winners will continue their participation in the year-long program, gaining professional skills by networking with business leaders and mentors, completing phone, video, and personal interviews, and promoting their school or club athletic team. In the spring, each winner will receive a $2,000 scholarship towards college expenses.
“We could not be more honored to be associated with PCA-Tampa Bay and these student-athletes,” said Bart Catmull, President of Sagicor Life Insurance Company. “Every year, we are so impressed with the caliber of the young adults that apply for these scholarships. It is a true testament to the community we are a part of.”
