Trainers - New York City

John Sorensen has spent the last 25 years working within a team-building environment, both as a business executive and, most importantly, as a coach.

John is currently a head baseball coach at a private school in Manhattan. He has coached middle school and varsity baseball at public and private schools in the city, and loves providing instruction on integrating the mental and physical aspects of the game. Since 2013, he has also been a private instructor throughout each year to youth, secondary school and college athletes and consistently ranks in the top 20 on the nation’s number one personal coaching site. In addition to school coaching, he has run Little League, travel teams, tournament teams and skills clinics, and has served as an athletic association director in his local community. As a former D1 player, John continues his passion for playing the game while also managing a men’s team that has won over 300 games and several league championships.

In addition to coaching, he has spent over 20 years in sales, mostly notably as Vice President of Sales and Marketing in North America for Deutsche Telekom, Inc., the parent company of T-Mobile, where he also served on the Board of Directors.

Coach John is drawn to the PCA as its core principles validate everything he aspires to be as a coach. He strives to create an inclusive, respectful team-first environment, connecting with his students and continuously working to build upon their confidence, skills and passion for their sport.
