Eric Schlie grew up in Littleton, Colorado playing soccer, basketball, and baseball, and hockey before narrowing in on his athletic passion at 13 with the sport of hockey. After his youth stint and playing Tier 1 18U hockey for the Colorado Thunderbirds, Eric attended the University of Colorado at Boulder, where he played for CU's Men's Div. III ACHA team. Upon graduating with a B.A. in psychology, Eric has focused his passion for hockey on giving back and coaching the next generation of hockey players. He has 10+ years of coaching experience, coaching players from 8U to 21U and from recreational to Tier I to Junior A levels. Most notably, he was selected as a coach for the 2018 and 2019 USA Hockey 14U Boy's Western Regional High Performance Camp and as a coach for the 2019 USA Hockey 16U Boy's National Development Camp. Eric brings a vast variety of sports organizational experience to Positive Coaching Alliance. He was the Director of Player Development for Boulder Hockey Club where he oversaw athletic development for the whole organization; he was also recently an Assistant Coach for the Des Moines Buccaneers in the United States Hockey League. Currently, he is an assistant coach for the varsity hockey team at Valor Christian High School in Highlands Ranch, Colorado.
