Football, Wrestling, Soccer, Rugby, Baseball and Track/Field, Tex has shared the field of competition with coaches just like you, coaches that are seeking the best possible experiences for their athletes, parents and communities as related to sports. Since 1991, Tex has had the opportunity to coach the sports of wrestling, football, soccer and rugby. He has coached athletes at the local, state, regional and national levels. As a past four-sport athlete in high school, a college wrestler at the University of Minnesota and former Olympic trials participant in Freestyle/Greco wrestling, he has learned the pathways for athletes. He currently is a Bronze Level Certified Coach with the National Coaches Education Program for USA Wrestling. He recently added international competition as he was a guest coach for the USA Junior World Team vs Team Sweden.
He continues to learn from and be mentored personally by coaches that have achieved state championships and NCAA national championships. As an educator at the University of Minnesota since 1996 he continues to research and provide leadership development workshops, presentations and classes to college athletes and non-athletes. His position as the Coordinator for Pre-Collegiate Outreach at the University of Minnesota has allowed him the opportunity to serve over 100,000 youth K-8th grade as a facilitator of various workshops. He has a Masters Degree in Youth Development Leadership (Emphasis on Holistic Athlete Development) from the College of Education and Human Development at the University of Minnesota.In addition to his coaching, Tex currently volunteers in the Latino community encouraging youth of all ages to be healthy minded and active, as well as promoting levels of excellence in academics and citizenship. Tex is also the father of four children ages who have become subject to years of his practicing coaching in his home.
