Chrisi Laxer
Team Co-Owner, Tampa Bay Sun FC
Local Board Members, Tampa Bay
Making a difference has always been a cornerstone for Chrisi. Her academic achievements and athletic leadership continued to flourish after moving to Tampa, but she never anticipated how meeting her husband, David, would reshape her journey.
As a mother of three daughters and a Junior League of Tampa member for nearly a decade, Chrisi has devoted her efforts to volunteerism, leadership and advocacy in education, literacy, foster care and supporting disadvantaged children. Inspired by her mentor, Mary Lee Farrior, she joined the mission to help establish Hillsborough County’s first and only Child Advocacy and Protection Center, uniting critical services under one roof. Chrisi helped create the Mary Lee’s House Auxiliary and proudly served on its Board of Directors for over 10 years.
In 2018 she co-founded The Laxer Family Foundation to create a more focused and impactful platform for charitable giving. Professionally, Chrisi plays an integral role in the Laxer family brands, including Bern’s Steak House, Bern’s Fine Wines & Spirits and Haven. She is also a partner in the Epicurean Hotel and co-authored the collectible inside storybook Bern’s Rare and Well Done in 2015.
A former collegiate athlete and semi-professional soccer player, Chrisi co-found the Tampa Bay Rowdies in 2008 and is now a proud co-owner of Tampa Bay’s first professional women’s soccer team, the Tampa Bay Sun. As a board member of PCA-Tampa Bay, Chrisi is dedicated to promoting opportunities for women, fostering empowerment on and off the field, and inspiring constructive growth in the next generation of athletes.
