A year ago, in response to the national call for an end to racism, PCA launched the Sports Can Battle Racism (SCBR) initiative—a focused effort to go beyond condemnation and develop solutions that work to battle racism within the environment of sports. Over the past year, PCA has sought to take a more active, intentional, and honest approach to build a youth sports environment free of discrimination. Sports have the ability to connect communities, but the power of sport is only activated if we put in the work to make it so. Building relationships that include trust, empathy, grace, and equity are essential to creating a culture we all can be proud of.

CURRICULUM DEVELOPMENT
Our initiatives include the development and delivery of our inaugural workshop that remains in high demand, Sports Can Battle Racism: A Workshop for Coaches, active leadership by PCA's diverse Task Force, regional and national outreach, and our newly launched workshop for student-athletes.

THOUGHT LEADERSHIP
Utilize PCA's platform to serve as a conduit to have important conversations, amplify voices, and influence change.

ALIGNMENT
Intentionally recruit, strategize, and connect with thought leaders focused on battling racism, improving diversity, equity, and inclusion.

IMPROVED DIVERSITY
All aspects of the PCA community will be a reflection and representation of diversity and inclusion.
