Dodgers Dreamteam- Positive Coaching Moment

While attending a Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation Dreamteam baseball game at Salt Lake Park, our Community Engagement Manager, Reggie Garcia was able to witness this moment of a coach filling up the pitcher’s emotional tank after the young player gave up a handful of runs in the top of the first inning. When the rally was over, the pitcher was visibly upset. (For any softball and baseball players, you all know how it feels to give up early runs in the first inning and how your coach and teammates may react). The coach observed the body language, got down to the child’s level, and reminded him that the game was still early and his teammates had his back.

Then, the catcher put his arm around the pitcher to let him know the coach was right. This interaction showcases the impact PCA training and concepts can have when played out on the field.
