Blake Sloan
Corporate Inspection Leader, American Fire Protection Group
Local Board Members
- Minnesota
Blake is excited to be a member of the PCA board because he believes that coaches have played a critical role in shaping the person he is today. He played every sport imaginable as a child and continued to play both competitive baseball and hockey through high school. He played hockey at the University of Michigan and was blessed to have been part of an NCAA Championship along the way. His proudest collegiate honor, however, was receiving the NCAA Humanitarian Award (College Hockey’s Finest Citizen) his senior year. He continued playing hockey professionally after college for 16 years across Canada, the US and Europe and was fortunate to be part of the Stanley Cup winning Dallas Stars in 1999.
Following retirement, Blake joined APi Group, Inc. He has held various positions in different operating companies and currently is a Corporate Inspection Leader at American Fire Protection Group. This role allows him to keep doing what he loves to do even outside of sports as he leads a national team responsible for recurring inspection revenue growth. Blake also served on the USA Hockey Board of Directors for 3 years during post-playing retirement.
Blake and his wife are parents to three children, all of whom are actively engaged in various sports. He has coached each of them at various ages and competitive levels and is committed to passing on all of the lessons he has learned along the way to all of the players he is blessed enough to coach. He is currently coaching at The Program within Breakaway Academy during the school year and leads hockey skills clinics throughout the summer months.
