Former Stanford women’s lacrosse coach Amy Bokker, entering her seventh season in 2015, ranks first in program history in winning percentage (.710) and has a 81-34 record while leading the team to the NCAA tournament three of the past four years. Bokker has led Stanford to four Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Tournament titles in six seasons and reached the tournament final in all six – extending Stanford’s streak of conference title game appearances to 17. Bokker also serves an assistant coach with the U.S. national team, helping it capture the 2013 World Cup title.
Previously, she assisted the Canadian national team to the 2009 World Cup bronze, the country’s first medal in 28 years. Before arriving at Stanford, Bokker coached George Mason for 11 seasons and left as the winningest coach in the Patriots’ history.
The former Amy Umbach is a native of Phoenixville, Pa., where she was a three-sport high school star, in lacrosse, field hockey and swimming. She was a two-time All-CAA first-team choice at William and Mary, where she also played field hockey. She was also named a BRINE/IWLCA All-American her senior season. She earned her master’s degree from George Mason in exercise, fitness and health promotion in 2007.
Bokker is the sixth head coach in the 20-year history of varsity women’s lacrosse at Stanford. Bokker and her husband, Scott, have a son, Chase, and a daughter, Alexis.
