This year, PCA, ESPN, and Disney launched Take Back Sports%u2014a national campaign to restore joy and purpose in youth sports and increase access to play for young athletes. The initiative is addressing critical challenges in the youth sports landscape. Too often pressure and negative adult behavior get in the way, but together we can transform the culture of youth sports. PCA is leading this charge by not only providing training to coaches throughout the country but also through the Take Back Sports website (www.TakeBackSports.org) where parents can join the movement by exploring the problem, taking the pledge, accessing resources, and spreading the word!PARTNERSHIP HIGHLIGHTSIn partnership with Eat.Learn.Play., the foundation created by Stephen and Ayesha Curry, PCA is supporting the revitalization of middle school sports in Oakland through the Oakland Athletic League (OAL) Community Sports Grant Program. As the lead facilitator, PCA is responsible for managing the grant process, supporting community-based organizations, and aligning efforts with OAL%u2019s bold vision for youth sports as a vehicle for whole-child development. Beyond funding, PCA is delivering leadership development, coach training, and system-level guidance rooted in our Sports Equity Framework%u2014ensuring sustainable impact for youth often left out of the game. This partnership exemplifies PCA commitment to cross-sector collaboration, addressing the root causes of inequity, and creating lasting change in youth sports. TAKE BACK SPORTS EAT. LEARN. PLAY. 10
