Mike Huff’s background in sports includes being an athlete, a coach, a sports scientist, and a performance trainer.
Mike was a multi-sport high school athlete in a small town in eastern Washington state. He played college basketball, was a member of two overseas tour teams to Australia, and he spent a season playing basketball in Germany. Mike’s teaching and coaching experience includes the college, high school, middle school and international levels. His coaching resume includes the 2016 North Carolina 1A State Championship at Voyager Academy in Durham, North Carolina.
Mike is the Director of the North Carolina site of NBC Camps, one of the world’s largest sports camp organizations. NBC combines intensive basketball instruction with life skills training. Mike also spent 14 years working at Duke University, the last seven of which he was the Coordinator of Sports Performance at the Michael W. Krzyzewski Human Performance Lab and worked primarily with college and professional athletes from a variety of sports. He has spoken at a variety of events, including the Women’s Final Four Coaching Clinic and the Basketball Analytics Summit. Mike is also the author of the book Teamwork: Rediscovering the Essence of Basketball, which is available on Amazon.
