Event Time:

Join us for the national gathering of sport equity practitioners— an event that highlights the power of coalition work and collective impact in striving for sports equity across the nation. This convening will showcase the efforts of California’s coalitions led by PCA and the Play Equity Fund, which is a vital part of a national network of organizations committed to advancing equitable access to sports, play, and movement for all.

By bringing together community leaders, experts, and advocates, we will share insights and best practices from across the country and collaborate on strategies to advance a sustainable, inclusive play equity movement. Engage with national thought leaders, practitioners, and partners to reimagine systems, to increase access and participation, and gain strategies to support community-driven initiatives nationwide.

The convening will bring together:

Community Leaders – Grassroots organizers and community leaders who are directly involved in implementing sports equity initiatives

National Leaders in Sports Equity – Influential figures who are leading efforts to promote equity in youth sports at the national level.

Local Foundations – Key stakeholders who are supporting community-based initiatives and funding sports equity programs.

Coalition Members – Representatives from various coalitions across the country who are working to create equitable sports opportunities in their regions.

Policy Makers and Advocates – Individuals who are driving policy changes and advocacy efforts to increase public resources for youth sports.

This agenda is structured around three key strategies: Research and Community OrganizingCollective Action and Capacity Building, and Advocacy and Evaluation, which together provide a comprehensive framework for advancing sports equity.

  • Research and Community Organizing identify systemic barriers and ensure solutions are rooted in local leadership.
  • Collective Action and Capacity Building align stakeholders to mobilize resources, strengthen organizations, and drive sustainable initiatives.
  • Advocacy and Evaluation institutionalize change by influencing policy, measuring impact, and demonstrating the value of equity-focused programs.

Each session builds on the previous one, equipping attendees with the tools, strategies, and networks needed to address inequities and create lasting change in their communities.
