He received his B.S. in Accounting from Arizona State University in 1989 and worked over 6 years in public accounting honing his skills in various administrative, management and operational areas, all with an emphasis in operational and process efficiency. Mr. Casalena also enjoyed a successful 6 year sales career as an Account Executive with a production and marketing agency where collaborative influence, leadership, creativity, and organization were paramount to his success. Mr. Casalena utilizes these sales and marketing skills in combination with his accounting/financial education and experience to provide professional and innovative business solutions to his clients and boards he serves.
One of Chris’ longstanding and fulltime consulting projects was four years as the CFO for Select Artists Associates, who served the Maricopa County Stadium District in booking and managing large non-baseball events at Chase Field. There he formed many business relationships in the live events, sports marketing and facilities industries.
Chris has honed his coach-like, participatory style of leadership by working with a variety of executive management teams as a freelance CFO, and by volunteering his time for education and youth sports boards. He founded Scottsdale Youth Soccer League, Inc. in 2009 with an all-volunteer board and coaching staff. Chris sits on the Blue Ribbon Advisory Council for Scottsdale Schools, as well as on the board of a new nonprofit named Business United for Scottsdale Schools (BUSS). He also volunteers his time as an assistant coach with the Saguaro High School soccer team.
Chris is an Arizona native and lives in Scottsdale with his wife Joyce and three boys.
