Check out some of these handy reflection questions and practices you can use during these times.

  1. Write-down some of the emotions or feelings you are having due to recent events around you.
  2. How did you mentally prepare yourself for a big game, crucial shot or something that made you nervous or fearful? Did it help?
  3. Spend time on the phone or on-line talking through your thoughts, views, worries with fellow teammates. Turn defeated discussion into uplifting and optimistic conversation.
  4. How does the belief that your sports is something you do, not something you are, influence your mindset? Positive self-talk.
  5. Reflect on all the positive things sports participation has provided for you up to today - write/type them.
  6. How did you mentally prepare yourself for a big game, crucial shot or something? Can you apply any of those elements to your psyche today?

In 2013, at the inception of PCA-Minnesota, Troy joined the Chapter as a local trainer. Troy delivered the first series of workshops and was excited to be involved with the grassroots endeavors as the Chapter gained notoriety, acceptance, and traction. For Troy, it was thrilling to participate in building up the trainer corps and help grow partners at all levels, seeing the state embrace the concepts and principles of PCA. In 2018, Troy became Executive Director for the Chapter, and now oversees the success of the Minnesota Chapter.
