Tampa Bay Names Finalists for Class of 2022 Triple-Impact Competitor® Scholarships presented by Sagicor Life Insurance Company

08.03.2021

Positive Coaching Alliance - Tampa Bay, the local chapter of the national non-profit Positive Coaching Alliance that develops “Better Athletes, Better People,” through youth and high school sports, has named fifty (50) Tampa Bay area student-athletes from the high school Class of 2022 as finalists for the Triple-Impact Competitor® Scholarship Awards presented by Sagicor Life Insurance Company.

“Our chapter is incredibly thankful for Sagicor’s support of our scholarship program,“ said Mason Cathey, Executive Director of PCA – Tampa Bay. “We thoroughly enjoy working with these students and know they value all the program has to offer.”

Student-athlete scholarship finalists receive multiple opportunities to meet and interact with peers as well as PCA mentors and business leaders who provide guidance and advice on how to be an effective leader in their senior year of high school and how to use what they’ve learned from sports as they make the transition to college. Finalists also gain professional skills by completing phone, video and personal interviews and promoting their school or club athletic communities through social media and volunteer service.

“Sagicor is proud to be involved with the Triple-Impact Competitor® Scholarship Awards program.” said Bart Catmull, President of Sagicor Life Insurance Company. “Through our partnership with PCA - Tampa Bay, we’ll have the opportunity to watch these incredible youth leaders from the Tampa Bay area drive positive change in their sport, school and communities. We hope that our investment today, will help them keep our community as one of the greatest places to live, work and thrive well into the future.”

At least twenty-five (25) winners will be selected in the fall as recipients of the Triple-Impact Competitor® Scholarship Award, and each has the opportunity to earn $2,000 towards college expenses.
