Stanford Breakfast: Coaching The Mental Game, Working With Parents

04.05.2017

Stanford University Golf Coaches Address a Small Group Of PCA Supporters

PCA hosted supporters at the Stanford Faculty Club for breakfast with Knowles Family Director of Men's Golf Conrad Ray and Margot and Mitch Milas Director Of Women's Golf Anne Walker, as PCA Chief Impact Officer Tina Syer covered topics on the mental game, sports parenting, recruiting, and more.

The coaches discussed...

  • Their take on Lexi Thompson's controversial penalty in a major championship

  • How parents can help empower their students to success on and off the course. Walker used the term "Bulldozer Parent" as opposed to the more commonly used term "Helicopter Parent" in discussing the ever-prevalent problem parents

  • The difference between playing on the range and on the course itself, and how each should be used in preparing for competition.

Both coaches met with PCA Supporters after the event:

PCA Major Gifts Officer Patty Rally organized the event along with Stanford University Deputy Athletics Director and PCA Board Member Ray Purpur.
