PCA Updates
Oakland, CA (September 22, 2022) – Positive Coaching Alliance (PCA) is proud to announce a new national partner, US Sailing, the national governing body for the sport of sailing. PCA looks forward to providing the US Sailing community with quality training and resources for coaches, athletes, parents, and officials.
“We’re excited to partner with US Sailing to give coaches the tools they need to unleash the power of youth sports to help young people grow and thrive,” said Jason Sacks, President of Positive Coaching Alliance. “Sailing has become a rapidly growing sport in the US, and with our two organizations working closely together, we will be able to impact more coaches across the country to have a positive impact on the social and emotional development of youth.”
“A critical component to increasing sailing participation and excellence is creating positive experiences for young sailors,” said Alan Ostfield, Chief Executive Officer of US Sailing. “By leveraging Positive Coaching Alliance’s vast resources, we will be able to provide our member coaches, athletes, parents, officials, and organizations with the tools they need to help develop the best sailors and people.”
Through this national partnership, PCA will provide US Sailing coaches, parents and officials access to online training, tools, and resources. US Sailing is looking to make PCA’s online courses available to coaches, parents, athletes, officials, and volunteers within the sailing community, promoting sportsmanship and a high-quality sports environment for all participants. Beyond the training courses, PCA will provide US Sailing content shares and resources to incorporate PCA tools into US Sailing email newsletters and social media platforms on a monthly basis.
