PCA - Tampa Bay Winners for Triple-Impact Competitor® Scholarship Awards Presented by Sagicor Life Insurance Company

11.08.2021

Congratulations to the 25 local student-athletes who embody the Triple-Impact Competitor model of making themselves, their teammates, and their sport better!

Tampa— Positive Coaching Alliance - Tampa Bay – the local chapter of the national non-profit Positive Coaching Alliance (PCA) that develops “Better Athletes, Better People” through youth and high school sports – has named 25 Tampa Bay area student-athletes from the high school Class of 2022 as winners for the Triple-Impact Competitor® Scholarship Awards presented by Sagicor Life Insurance Company.

PCA recognizes student-athletes who have shown a positive impact in sport on three levels: by making themselves, their teammates, and their communities better. Selected winners will continue their participation in the year-long program, gaining networking skills from business leaders and mentors, completing both video and in-person interviews, and promoting their school or club athletic team.

“This scholarship program provides multiple opportunities for these student-athletes and our PCA mentors to spend time together,” said Mason Brady, Executive Director, PCA - Tampa Bay. “It has been uplifting to see such quality people working together and I'm thankful we are able to connect people in the community in this way.”

Each scholarship winner will receive $2,000 in the spring towards college expenses. PCA - Tampa Bay’s scholarship program is solely underwritten by Sagicor Life Insurance Company whose continued support of the program over the past six years has provided $300,000 in scholarships to local student-athletes.

“We’re so pleased to partner with PCA - Tampa Bay to award scholarships to these student-athletes and participate in the various initiatives throughout the year,” said Bart Catmull, President & COO of Sagicor Life Insurance Company. “We’ve seen the difference that these young adults are making today, and I have no doubt that they will continue to help our communities thrive well into the future.”
