PCA – Tampa Bay is Proud to Announce 50 Finalists for its Triple-Impact Competitor® Scholarship Awards Program
11.08.24
11.8.2024 – Positive Coaching Alliance – Tampa Bay has announced fifty (50) high school senior student-athletes as Finalists for its Triple-Impact Competitor® Scholarship Awards.
A Triple-Impact Competitor makes positive contributions on three levels: Personal Mastery, Leadership, and Honoring the Game. Finalists were selected based on their application which included essay responses and recommendations noting how applicants strive to better themselves, their teammates, and sport itself.
“Our review committee read incredibly strong applications this past month. Students from the Class of 2025 wrote about what they’ve learned, for example, as leaders of their teams or from their experiences with strong opponents and then how they’ve applied those lessons in other parts of life” said Mason Brady, chapter Executive Director. “Our mentors, review committee, and staff look forward to meeting these exceptional Finalists in the coming months.”
Since 2016, PCA – Tampa Bay has awarded over $390,000 in scholarships to local student-athletes. Finalists will be provided with more than an opportunity of a monetary award. As a part of the program, all 50 will have opportunities to:
- Improve interview skills
- Meet local business leaders and former athletes
- Receive mentorship as they transition from high school to their next endeavor
- Connect with peers and build relationships
“We surround our Finalists with local professionals who were once in their shoes” said Nick Hess, PCA -Tampa Bay Board member and Mentor Chair. “Mentors help the Finalists learn how to use the life lessons gained from their playing days into their next stage of life and they foster points of connection. We offer more than a financial scholarship and this really sets PCA’s program apart.”
