10.25.2018 PCA Corporate Workshop With Healthline Media
Dave Flemming moderates a 'Fireside Chat' With The SF Giants, including President Larry Baer, GM Bobby Evans, and Jeff Mallett.
On Thursday, March 15, PCA-SF Bay Area held its 10th Annual Triple-Impact Competitor® Scholarship and Awards Dinner at AT&T Park. During the event, PCA recognized Bay Area student-athletes with college scholarship awards. The program also featured San Francisco Giants President & CEO Larry Baer receiving an award for Excellence in Leadership and Giants Principal Owner Jeff Mallett recognized with the Triple-Impact Executive award. General Manager and PCA-SF Bay Area Board Member Bobby Evans joined the two on stage for a panel on the role that leadership and humility play in the Giants success. The discussion reminded audience that thoughtfulness and patience are key to building something great.
SF Giants Play-by-Play announcer Dave Flemming served as the Master of Ceremonies. A crowd of nearly 400 squeezed inside AT&T Park for the Bay Area youth sports community impact event of the year.
After the tenth Triple-Impact Competitor scholarship was awarded, PCA-SF Bay Area Board Chair, Rick Herrero, took the podium for an exciting announcement.
Rather than just the ten scholarship award winners, Triple-Impact Executive recipient Jeff Mallett became so inspired from reading the essays of the student-athlete being honored, that he donated enough money so that ALL 20 scholarship finalists would receive “full scholarships”, rather than just the 10 award winners.
Here is Jeff Mallet's introductory video, played at the event.
Thanks to the generosity of Jeff Mallett, Deloitte, and PCA-SF Bay Area, $40,000 in scholarship funds went directly into the hands of local students.

Also highlighting the evening was the presentation of the 2018 PCA-SF Bay Area Humanitarian Award to Larry Harper, Chairman & CEO of Good Tidings Foundation. Watch the full video presentation below.
The capacity crowd was incredibly inspired by Harper's story and the amazing impact he's had on our local community. Once named as the SF Giants Director of Scouting, Harper stepped away from scouting in 1994 to focus on humanitarian work in the community. He founded Good Tidings Foundation, a charity that has built hundreds of playing fields and courts for youth across the Bay Area.
The keynote panel of Giants Executives Larry Baer (President & CEO), Jeff Mallett (Principal Owner) and Bobby Evans (General Manager) brought tremendous wisdom to the evening. Dave Flemming did a masterful job extracting valuable insights from the panelists and involving everyone equally. Attendees enjoyed hearing from the leaders of the 3X World Series Champion San Francisco Giants.
Also in attendance were six of the eight PCA-SF Bay Area Double-Goal Coach® award winners, pictured above (Doug Appleton, Phil Huynh, David Klein, Kevin Sawchuk, Todd Tullis, and Marlowe Wells).
