Joe Castor to Consult with Positive Coaching Alliance-Phoenix

07.26.2016

SportsCastor Marketing, led by former Arizona Cardinals and San Diego Chargers executive Joe Castor, will provide consulting and fundraising services to Positive Coaching Alliance-Phoenix, the local chapter of the national non-profit Positive Coaching Alliance, which develops “Better Athletes, Better People” through youth and high school sports.

Castor has spent three decades in the sports industry consulting, marketing and partnership sales for teams, events and companies in Arizona and throughout the U.S., including a combined 19 years with the Cardinals (14) and Chargers (3) and the USHL’s Denver Gold (2), and now 14 years at the helm of SportsCastor Marketing.

“Approaching our chapter’s fourth year of existence, during which time we have impacted youth and high school sports through grassroots outreach, we are jump-starting efforts to raise our profile and raise funds that can take us to the next level,” said Devin Rankin, PCA-Phoenix Chapter Executive Director. “SportsCastor Marketing is ideally positioned to help us grow rapidly toward our mission of providing all Phoenix-area youth with positive, character-building youth and high school sports experiences.”

PCA-Phoenix will continue its growth primarily through partnerships with schools and youth sports organizations – such as Phoenix Union High School District, City of Mesa and many others – that train and educate coaches, sports parents, program administrators and student-athletes in techniques that improve athletic performance while teaching life lessons through sports.

“PCA is an organization whose time has come, based on how the Power of Positive benefits Arizona’s youth athletes, coaches and parents alike,” Castor said. “I am proud and excited to work with PCA-Phoenix to raise funds and awareness within the corporate and sports community, which will help tens of thousands more Phoenix-area children experience a positive impact & benefit in their lives from youth and high school sports. Better Athletes, Better People says it all.”

About Positive Coaching Alliance and PCA-Phoenix

Positive Coaching Alliance (PCA) develops BETTER ATHLETES, BETTER PEOPLE through resources for youth and high school sports coaches, parents, administrators and student-athletes. In addition to 1,000+ free audio-video and printable tips and tools at www.PCADevZone.org, PCA has partnered with roughly 3,500 schools and youth sports organizations nationwide to deliver live group workshops, online courses and books by PCA Founder Jim Thompson that help those involved in youth and high school sports create a positive, character-building youth sports culture.

PCA resources, which have reached more than 8.6 million youth, strive to transform high school and youth sports into a Development ZoneTM culture, where the following become the norm:

  • The Double-Goal Coach®, who strives to win while also pursuing the more important goal of teaching life lessons through sports
  • The Second-Goal Parent®, who concentrates on life lessons, while letting coaches and athletes focus on competing
  • The Triple-Impact Competitor®, who strives to impact sport on three levels by improving oneself, teammates and the game as a whole.

PCA gains support from a National Advisory Board, including National Spokesperson and 11-time NBA Champion Coach Phil Jackson, and many other top coaches, athletes, organization leaders and academics who share PCA’s mission. PCA-Phoenix launched in 2013 with a Chapter Board comprising a who’s who of Phoenix-area sports, business and civic leaders.
