On May 8th, before The Rays take on the Royals, the Triple-Impact Competitor® Scholarship winners from PCA-Tampa Bay received their scholarships in an on-field award ceremony. Joining the winners on field were Matt Silverman, President of Baseball Operations for The Rays and Bart Catmull, Sagicor Life President and presenting sponsor of the Triple-Impact Competitor® Scholarship program. After the ceremony, the scholarship winners, members of their families, PCA Champions Club mentors and representatives of school district and area private school celebrated the winners in a suite hosted by The Rays. This is the third year The Rays have hosted this program for our scholarship winners.
On June 3rd, The Rays will host their National MLB initiative PLAY BALL DAY. Each year for the past three years, The Rays have hosted PCA-Tampa Bay during Rays Up week. Throughout the game, the Rays highlight the work of PCA-Tampa Bay which has had a significant positive impact and has allowed PCA-Tampa Bay to rapidly expand the number of youth and high school sports organizations adopting PCA principles. The success of the PCA-Tampa Bay Chapter has been made possible by the generous support of the Rays organization.
