The wonderful story of how PCA-Portland Board Member Ryan Schlunz’s brother Curtis and son Skylar coached the Clackamas Cavaliers Junior National baseball team to a state championship appears in this Portland Tribune article.
Ryan and Curtis came to positive coaching independently, gaining Double-Goal Coach® certification eight years ago and four years ago, respectively. Skylar, also certified as a Double-Goal Coach, may have had a little guidance from his dad!
This is a prime example of how our board members spread PCA’s mission and message to friends and family. We hope to learn of many more stories about how the brotherhood, sisterhood (and in this case…“nephewhood?”) of positive coaching can generate a lot of happy results from winning championships to accelerating the PCA Movement.
