Ed Tauriac is the retail and distribution champion for Deloitte’s West region and the former managing partner of the Louisiana practice.
Ed has 24 years of experience in accounting, including 15 years serving major retail and distribution companies. Ed has significant experience with the critical accounting and industry issues facing retailers, including good will, store impairment, lease accounting, vendor rebates, and revenue recognition. He has consulted with retail clients on issues such as cost reduction, process improvements, internal control design, and the implementation and documentation of global accounting policies and procedures. He also has experience assisting high-wealth individuals in monitoring their investments in portfolio companies.
Within Deloitte, Ed has established a substantial global network, having led global audits and other cross-functional teams and engagements. His experience includes coordinating the audits of retailers with locations, shared service centers, or manufacturing operations in Germany, Hong Kong, England, Switzerland, India, and China; he has traveled extensively to Asia, Europe, the Caribbean, and Central America to serve his clients.
In addition to his client service roles, Ed has served as Deloitte’s lead partner adviser to Florida A&M University, the University of Oklahoma, and Jackson State University. Deloitte’s leaders selected him to be a member of our Next Gen initiative, an elite program that focuses on developing our most promising partners for future leadership opportunities. He is active in mentoring, training, and recruiting in his practice office and nationally. He sits on the selection committee for Deloitte’s Ellen B. Gabriel Fellows program and is co-chairman of the Audit and Advisory National Review Committee for new audit partner and director candidates.
