Chief Executive Officer, Ada Developers Academy
Chapter Board - Seattle
Lauren is a startup veteran having been employee number 3, 0, 4, 1, 100, and 50, at various companies, and growing businesses from $100k to $7m, from 100 to 300 employees, and even starting a couple of companies from scratch. She has a strong track record in creating sustainable partnerships - bringing disparate groups together under a common purpose: from public-private partnerships to investment collaboratives, to corporate-social responsibility partnerships.
Lauren joined PCA as a founding board member for three reasons: 1) because as an athlete herself (through collegiate soccer and track), she experienced phenomenal coaches and terrible coaches - both having a long-term impact; 2) because as a mother of a gymnast she is deeply troubled by the conversations she's having to have with her daughter around safety and body image; and 3) because she sees every day in the next generation of leaders she's hiring and developing the deep impact a background in sports can have on a person's ultimate career success, which is particularly powerful in leveling the playing field for women in leadership. Lauren sees every day how an investment in building Better Athletes, Better People is one of the most impactful investments a community can make.
