Bret is the commercial lead for Bariatric Advantage, the market leader in targeted nutrition for metabolic/bariatric surgery patients. There he developed a world-class sales and marketing organization along with a robust, science-based, patient-focused, product portfolio that serve bariatric surgeons and their patients. In this role, he created extensive B2B and B2C solutions that helped increase compliance. Additionally, Bret fostered unique professional and patient education solutions, and his e-commerce experience affords him unique insights into deploying novel solutions that serve the healthcare professional and their patient. In 2013, he created the Excellence in Nutrition Award to recognize a healthcare professional for novel research in nutrition.

Bret graduated with a Bachelor of Science from the United States Military Academy at West Point where he started as a sophomore with the Army Football Team. Following graduation, he served for five years in various leadership positions in the United States Army both in the United States and Europe. Bret is a graduate of the United States Army Ranger and Airborne Schools.

Following his service in the military, Bret started his healthcare experience with Johnson & Johnson selling surgical devices to advanced laparoscopic surgeons. After this role, he joined a medical device start-up and helped launch a recently FDA approved surgical device. Later Bret helped co-found an outpatient surgical treatment program, and gained the first outpatient designation as a Center of Excellence.

Bret has four children and has been married for 15 years to one, lucky lady. He has coached numerous youth sports teams for over 10 years, and loves tackle football.

Bret serves as Past Chair on the corporate council for the American Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgeons, as a member of the Obesity Medicine Association Corporate Council, and on the board of the North Texas Chapter of Positive Coaching Alliance.
