Bob Morikuni

Bob has been the Athletic Director at McKinley High School since December 2012. Prior to that Bob taught PE/Health/Study Skills/Driver’s Education for 8 years at McKinley High School. Bob coached the Varsity Boys Basketball team for 9 years and in 2007 won the HHSAA D2 State Championship. He also coached the Girls Varsity Basketball team in 2007 winning the OIA D2 Championship.

Bob has a Master’s Degree in Teaching (Health) from the University of Hawaii at Manoa. A Bachelor’s Degree in PE from Whittier College. While at Whittier, he played two years of baseball.

Bob and McKinley High School has partnered with Positive Coaching Alliance Hawaii (PCA) for over 10 years and has witnessed a tremendous impact within the Athletics Program with the athletes, coaches, and parents. The PCA principals and tools for competing, teaching life lessons and developing the growth mindset are all a part of the culture at McKinley High School daily.

Bob is born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii. He is married with 2 daughters and enjoys teaching, modeling and continuously building the athletic programs at McKinley High School.
