Geordie was born and raised in Portola Valley, California playing little league baseball, AYSO soccer and youth basketball, as well as competitive junior tennis starting at age 11. He attended Menlo School and Stanford University, where he lettered all 4 years in men’s tennis and was fortunate to be part of 2 NCAA championship teams (1983 and 1986).
Geordie joined Renault & Handley Commercial Real Estate in 1999 and has been a Partner and Co-President since 2009. He is involved in overseeing all aspects of property management, leasing and sales for the company's portfolio of over 1 million square feet, as well as focusing on business development and increasing the company's third party leasing and management revenue.
Through Renault & Handley, Geordie has also developed new projects from the ground up, including 645 Ellis Street in Mountain View (which won the Mayor's Award for best new project in 2008), and supervised numerous renovations to completion and successful lease up. Renault & Handley was founded in 1952 and has a rich history of local brokerage, property management and development, having built and leased many of Silicon Valley's first generation of commercial properties. Examples of tenants that have occupied Renault & Handley developed buildings include Fairchild Semiconductor, Intel, Applied Materials, Apple, Sun Microsystems, Yahoo! and more recently Google and LinkedIn.
In addition to his partnership responsibilities at Renault & Handley, Geordie performs asset management services, acting as Manager for 4 limited liability companies and Managing Partner for 1 California general partnership, which comprise 10 commercial buildings and over 300,000 square feet in Silicon Valley.
Geordie lives in Palo Alto with his wife Alice and son Ryan, enjoys travel with his family, tennis, golf, snowboarding and participating in regular Boy Scout outings with Ryan, acting as Assistant Scoutmaster and Merit Badge Counselor for mountain biking.
