Soccer Legend, MNUFC Sporting Director

Manny Lagos is the Sporting Director of Minnesota United Football Club. He has a long and storied career in soccer and has been a key cog in the development of the pro game in Minnesota, serving as the Sporting Director for the Minnesota Thunder and coach for the Minnesota Stars who rebranded to Minnesota United FC in the NASL, before his current role with the MLS side.

As a player he played in the MLS from 1996 – 2005, appearing in 170 matches and scoring 31 goals and 41 assists. Prior to his MLS stint, he played for his father, Buzz, for the Minnesota Thunder. He also played for the US National Team in the 1992 Olympics as well as 3 caps for the Senior National Team. He attended the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee where he took First Team All-American honors in 1991. He is a native of St. Paul.
