Bets’ broad base of operating and enterprise transformation experience spans high tech, telco, healthcare and bio-pharma with domestic and International leadership roles at IBM, AT&T, Abbott Laboratories and AbbVie. Recognized for innovation and execution, Bets has a passion for delivering game-changing capabilities in demanding environments.
In her current role as AbbVie’s Vice President, Global Purchasing Operations, Systems and Compliance, Bets governs over $15B of spend and leverages technology to deliver well-controlled operations, efficiency enhancements, and patient-centric support for purchasing activities throughout a $30B global biopharmaceutical enterprise.
Bets earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Biomedical Engineering, summa cum laude, from Purdue University. She has served on the school’s Advisory Board since 2009. She also holds a Masters of Business Administration from Northwestern University’s Kellogg Graduate School of Management.
From the Iron Girl to the Comrades ultramarathon, Bets enjoys challenging herself in sport. She was an enthusiastic parent volunteer during her children’s athletic careers and now gives back to sport as a volunteer in a variety of venues – from the Chicago Marathon to the Pyeongchang Olympics. Bets and her husband live in the northern suburbs, surrounded by rescue dogs.
