Partner Support Manager, Los Angeles
After moving back home to Los Angeles from spending a year living in Chicago, Emerald was offered the position as the Partner Support Manager for the Los Angeles Chapter of Positive Coaching Alliance.
Prior to joining Positive Coaching Alliance in January 2019, Emerald worked as a Program Manager for Up2Us Sports in both the Los Angeles and Chicago regional office. Emerald's focus was to manage the Up2Us Coach Program, an AmeriCorps funded program in both Los Angeles and Chicago region.
In Chicago, Emerald spearheaded the management and retention of a state commission grant while also managing AmeriCorps members throughout their service year as Sports-Based Youth Development Coaches.
Emerald has spent her professional career working and interning at various non-profits, while also working as a Graduate Assistant in Collegiate Athletic Departments at the University of Southern California, University of California- Irvine, and University of California- Riverside.
A native of Compton, CA, she credits programs like Positive Coaching Alliance for keeping her on a positive path and enabling her to build the leadership skills she now uses in her everyday life. Her career goal is to give back to her community, the same way her community has provided her opportunities to excel through sports. Emerald holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of California, Riverside and a Masters of Arts in Sport Management from the University of San Francisco.
While not working, she likes to travel with friends and family. She has been all over the Pacific Islands, from Australia to New Zealand to Samoa to visit family. She enjoys going to live events, sports games, concerts, plays, etc., In her spare time, she likes to go to the beach and try out different food cuisines.
