Matt LeBretton is the Vice President of Public Affairs for New Balance Athletics, Inc. and the New Balance family of brands. He is responsible for the strategic vision; industry collaboration and partnerships; and global communication for government affairs, community relations, and public policy initiatives.
Over the course of his career, he has aided several government and political organizations including the Massachusetts legislature, the US Congress, the Office of the Governor, and a number of campaigns. Prior to joining New Balance, LeBretton advised numerous companies, candidates and senior leaders on public affairs. During Governor Baker and Lt. Governor Polito’s successful campaign in 2014, LeBretton served as Finance Chairman and was honored to reprise his role after the election. He also acts as Chairman of the Massachusetts State Athletic Commission.
LeBretton serves on the Board of Directors of the New England Council, the Business Advisory Board of the Outdoor Industry Association, the Board of the Rubber and Plastic Footwear Manufacturers Association, Board of Fitness Industry Association, Board Member of The Base and was appointed by the US Secretary of Commerce to the Industry Trade Advisory Committee to the United States Government. LeBretton was recognized as a Rising Star by American Apparel and Footwear Association and is now an honorary member of its Board of Directors.
LeBretton attended Suffolk University School of Law, graduating cum laude with a Juris Doctor (JD) degree and served on the Board of Trustees of his alma mater Salem State College. He resides in Hingham, MA with his wife, Michelle and their three children Samantha, Abigail and Jacob.
