Jill is a coach-researcher. She has her master’s in kinesiology in sport psychology and is completing her PhD at Michigan State University. She began her career path as a student-athlete (soccer player) at Amherst College. After graduating, she took a position as a high school teacher and soccer coach outside of Baltimore. These experiences inspired her decision to go to graduate school to systematically study effective coaching for youth development. She is most passionate about unpacking psychological concepts and applying them as a coach (teacher) in order to guide young people towards self-empowerment on and off the field. She currently coaches high school varsity boys’ and girls’ soccer in the Mid-Michigan area. When she is not teaching or coaching, you can find her training for Ironman triathlons.
