Travan Jasper
"Coach Jasper is more than just a coach to his players. He’s a mentor, motivator, counselor, and father figure. [He] focuses primarily on the process and not the results. He stresses that positive results follow doing things the “right way”. He cares not just about the players' physical performance on the court, but also their character off it. He has sowed into my life while I was a player on the team, and I thank God for his life and answering the calling he has had to help players. Another important part of his coaching is showing players the “why” of what he’s teaching. Coach Jasper ties in theses processes to life skills. He helps players to develop the basketball skills needed to compete while emphasizing the importance of school and being a good son, brother, uncle, and father. He has a 95 percent rate for the amount of kids that attend college after playing for him. When we travel with our teams he makes sure every kid has a great experience and never feels left out. He always takes them to a college to visit when we have traveling tournaments because his belief is if they experience stepping foot on a college campus, it will motivate them to attend college."
