Chris Hannan is currently EVP, Sales Integration at WME/IMG, Global Partnerships. Prior to WME/IMG, Hannan served as Executive Vice President, Communications and Integration, FOX Sports, in which he was responsible for the development of key strategic communications initiatives and cross-platform efforts on behalf of FOX Sports’ portfolio of businesses.
Shortly after being promoted to his current position in September 2013, Hannan was tasked with maximizing and integrating communications support for many of the biggest events on the FOX Sports programming calendar, including college football, the World Series, the Daytona 500, the NFL and Super Bowl XLVIII. His efforts established FOX Sports’ current ‘Big Event’ template for promoting key programming across television, digital, mobile, radio, and social media assets.
Hannan is an 18-year veteran of FOX Sports. Prior to being named to his current role, he oversaw marketing for FOX Sports Regional Networks, where he provided support for advertising sales, on-air promotions, and consumer marketing across the company’s portfolio of leading owned-and-operated regional sports networks. Hannan also spearheaded the integration of FOX Sports’ RSN assets in support of the successful launch of FOX Sports 1, and he was instrumental in creating a social media division for FOX Sports.
One of Hannan’s most significant achievements has been the development of FOX Sports University, a curriculum-based partnership with major universities that provides students with real-world marketing, communications, and business experience. By the fall of 2014, the program had been expanded to 28 universities across the country and has won multiple industry awards.
Since joining Fox Sports in 1997, Hannan has served in roles of increasing responsibility. He began as a writer and producer for on-air promotions for FOX Sports Net before being promoted to senior producer the following year. He was named vice president, on-air promotions in June 2002 and senior vice president of marketing in 2008.
Hannan has been honored for his work in sports media and marketing on numerous occasions. He has won over 25 Promax, Telly, and Addy awards for his work with FOX Sports. In 2012, he was named to Sports Business Journal’s prestigious 40 Under 40 list and recognized as one of the rising starts in the sports media industry the age of 40.
Hannan attended Syracuse University in New York, where he graduated with a B.S. in Speech Communications. He is also a member of the Syracuse University Athletic Advisory Board. Hannan remains an active member in the local community, serving on the Positive Coaching Alliance (Los Angeles Chapter) Board of Directors and the After-School All-Stars Marketing Advisory Board.
