Ward Foley

Veteran Swimming & Baseball Coach

Mid-Atlantic, Trainers

Ward Foley has been involved with sports all of his life – as an athlete (a wrestler and baseball player), as a coach, as an official, and in governance. He has coached youth sports for the past thirty-seven years, coaching young athletes from age six through college. Ward is active in the governance of both swimming and baseball locally and nationally, serving on a local swim committee through Potomac Valley Swimming, a national committee for USA Swimming, and with Fort Hunt Little League baseball. Ward has coached swimmers from local to national championship levels and recently has coached rec baseball and travel baseball in Northern Virginia. Ward has also served as a high school and junior high wrestling official for the past 17 years. And as a parent of two boys active in rec-house, travel leagues, and high school sports (soccer, basketball, swimming, football, and baseball), he has seen the good, the bad, and the ugly of youth sports. He knows the power of what positive coaching can bring to young athletes and wants to work with teams and leagues to promote those benefits in sports and in life.
