Executive Director, Chicago
Tai is a native Chicagoan, and joined PCA in 2015 as Executive Director for PCA-Chicago. She works with the Chicago board to develop, implement and evaluate a long-term strategy for the chapter. She represents PCA in the local community by developing relationships with business, philanthropic, academic and government leaders. In addition, Tai is responsible for raising sufficient funds annually for PCA-Chicago to thrive.
Tai is a graduate of the University of Chicago Laboratory Schools, where she also served as Head Varsity Girls’ Basketball Coach from 2009-2014. She has nearly a decade of youth sports coaching experience, including her current role as an AAU Girls’ Basketball Coach and Basketball Skills Trainer at Flow Basketball Academy. In 2004, Tai graduated from Grinnell College with a B.A. in Sociology and a concentration in Gender and Women’s Studies. At Grinnell, Tai was a member of the Student Athlete Advisory Committee, playing one year of varsity volleyball and lettering four years as a basketball player. She was Freshman Athlete of the Year, co-captain of the varsity women’s basketball team during her senior year, and received Academic All-Midwest Conference honors as well as Second Team All-Midwest Conference Honors for athletic performance. She graduated from the University of Iowa College of Law with Honors in 2008, where she received the Dean’s Achievement Award, and served as an Associate Note and Comment Editor for The Journal of Gender, Race and Justice. She had a successful legal and business career, including serving as Assistant Corporation Counsel at the City of Chicago Department of Law in the Labor Division, Director of Corporate Affairs in the Office of the Chief Executive Officer of Ariel Investments, and as an independent business consultant for sports and fitness companies.
Tai loves watching the NBA, and continues to play in competitive women's basketball leagues throughout Chicago. She is a member of the Lookingglass Theatre Company Associates Board (and proud season ticket holder!), B.I.G. Baseball Academy's Advisory Board, and The Cove School Board of Directors.
