Sean A. Cupp, MD begins his second season as Lead Medical Physician for the Cleveland Browns. Dr. Cupp is Co-Director of Sports Medicine and Assistant Professor at University Hospitals Cleveland. Originally from rural western Oklahoma, he earned his medical degree from the University of Oklahoma before receiving his family medicine training at the University of Alabama Birmingham-Huntsville Family Practice residency in north Alabama. He returned home for his Primary Care Sports Medicine Fellowship at the University of Oklahoma Medical Center in Oklahoma City, and then joined a busy private orthopedic practice in Lawrence, Kansas. For a decade, he practice medical sports medicine and non-surgical orthopedics while serving as the assistant head medical physician for the University of Kansas Jayhawks and the head team physician for Baker University Wildcats. Dr. Cupp is a Fellow in the American Academy of Family Physicians and continues to practice sports medicine with University Hospitals Orthopedics. Dr. Cupp’s interests include musculoskeletal medicine, medical issues of the athlete, non-surgical joint preservation, sports ultrasound and ultrasound guided joint injections.
Dr. Cupp and his wife, Keri, have 3 children, Charlotte (13), Christian (10), and Caleb (7).
