Charlie, a longtime Minnesota high school educator and administrator, became the 14th Associate Director in the then 105-year history of the Minnesota State High School League on Aug. 2, 2022.  

Prior to his position with the MSHSL, Charlie served as the Activities Director at Brainerd High School, the principal at Greenway High School, and a teacher and head football coach at both Nashwauk-Keewatin High School and Virginia Secondary School on Minnesota's Mesabi Iron Range.

After graduating from Brooklyn Center High School in 1991, Charlie earned degrees from Hamline University in 1995. He also played football for the Pipers and later served as an assistant coach. Charlie earned graduate degrees from St. Mary's University in 2001 and 2009

During his professional career, Charlie has been active in leadership positions with the Minnesota Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association and served on the League’s Education Advisory Committee, which included assisting in the development of the “Why We Play” curriculum.

Charlie and his family live in Brainerd. In his spare time, he enjoys the outdoors, boating, family time, cooking and physical fitness training.
