Bredemeier is an Associate Professor in the College of Education at the University of Missouri – St. Louis, and Fellow of the American Academy of Kinesiology and Physical Education. Bredemeier specializes in character development in sports in UMSL’s Center for Character and Citizenship. Prior to her arrival at UMSL, Bredemeier was co-director of the Mendelson Center for Sport, Character, and Culture at the University of Notre Dame and was a professor and dean at the University of California – Berkeley. Bredemeier was named a Sports Ethics Fellow by the Institute for International Sport and earned the 2010 Alumni Achievement Award from Temple University’s College of Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance. Bredemeier is widely published in journals, has co-authored two books, and conducts workshops nationally and internationally.
