Danielle has been involved in athletics since she was a kid. She played 3 sports at Elk River High School- softball, volleyball, and basketball. Danielle had wanted to play softball for the Gophers since she was in sixth grade. Her dream came true and she was blessed and fortunate to have the opportunity to wear Maroon and Gold! Dannie was a starter throughout her 4 year career at the U of M. The lessons she learned and the experience she has was priceless. Dannie was a team captain, and leader on and off the field. After she graduated from college, she had an amazing experience playing softball in Europe for the summer of 2012. Upon returning, Danielle was asked by Coach Allister and Coach Merchant at the U of M to be a volunteer coach. She was excited to be back in the competitive collegiate setting and enjoyed coaching there for the 2013 season. Dannie has been involved in coaching in some capacity since high school. She led clinics and worked clinics throughout high school, along with running clinics at the U of M, and for the Minnesota Fastpitch Academy. Dannie has been an assistant softball coach at Elk River High School for the last 2 seasons, and has enjoyed helping mold the high school athletes on and off the field. Aside from softball, she puts the Elk River HS Dance team and Girls’ Basketball team through morning workouts during the winter season, and enjoys working with different teams and athletes she that doesn’t coach full time.
