Sports represents a unique opportunity to create life-changing experiences for millions of kids. But only if done right which means making sure it is:
- Positive
- Equitable
- Accessible
UNFORTUNATELY, YOUTH SPORTS ARE OFTEN NOT DONE RIGHT
- Many kids do not have a coach who is trained.
- The playing field is not level – youth living in low-income communities are only half as likely to participate in sports.
- Many coaches, parents, youth sports administrators, and community leaders don’t know how to create a positive youth sports culture.
OUR IMPACT OVER THE NEXT FIVE YEARS
- Over 7 million young people will learn essential life skills.
- The sports equity gap will be narrowed with more youth of color and kids from low-income neighborhoods participating in youth sports.
- There will be nearly half a million more trained coaches.
