Student Athlete Profile

Noah Johnson is a football player from Durant High School. He takes seriously the way in which he plays the game no matter what the environment is. When I take part in a game or competition, I ignore such blatantly poor behavior and focus on what I have to do to position my team for a score. It takes personal discipline to let unflattering remarks ‘roll off my shoulders’ and maintain the game plan focus. To honor the game, I find it best to let your excellence shine through your own play and keep a positive mindset. At times when the opponent is talking in an uncivil manner, it is a result of their team losing or falling behind. I have had opponents tackle me, piling on and trash talking the whole time. I choose not to lose control through an angry reaction but instead; I refocus on my team’s game plan and ignore the unflattering comments. The game should be about elevating your personal play to enhance the team’s play execution.”

Noah’s coach notes his leadership on the practice field. Noah Johnson is a great example of a Triple-Impact Competitor in every way. Noah started coming to my weekly quarterback school a few years ago to improve his passing skills. He has been the most consistent attendee that I have had in this time, and actually, probably the most consistent person that shows up each and every week to get better! His leadership is shown in these practice sessions with other QB’s from around the greater Tampa Bay region as he takes charge in organization of drills and setting a quality tone that I am looking for from the coaching perspective.”
