2016 Chicago Hoops Huddle Highlights

08.24.2016

PCA-Chicago celebrated Chicago sports, featuring guests Doug Bruno (DePaul Women's Basketball Head Coach) and Allie Quigley (WNBA Chicago Sky Guard).

Coach Doug Bruno shared insights from his legendary coaching career, from lessons his players taught him to winning Olympic Gold in Rio. Bruno also discussed the importance of increasing coverage of women's sports in the media. Two-time WNBA 6th Woman of the Year, Allie Quigley, gave us an insider's look at everything from playing basketball overseas to how she maintained focus in her early years in the League as a journeywoman before finding a home with the Chicago Sky. Lisa Byington was a masterful moderator, and we closed out the fireside chat with thoughtful questions from the audience, covering topics from whether all media coverage is good coverage to how beneficial competition is for the growth of women's basketball.

Thanks again to our guests, panelists, staff, and host, Danny Nikitas at Avison Young. We're looking forward to keeping up with the Chicago Sky as they round out the regular season and make a Playoffs push (they're 2-0 since the Hoops Huddle!), and getting excited for this year's DePaul Women's Basketball season!
