Billy is a graduate of the Kamehameha Schools, where he played both football and baseball, earning a football scholarship to UCLA, where he captained teams that twice won the Pac-10 Championship. He also walked onto the baseball team at UCLA, eventually reaching the College World Series. Billy played professional baseball in the Kansas City Royals organization, fulfilling a lifelong dream of being a professional athlete. When Billy came back to Hawaii he wanted to give back to the state that had helped him become a man of service. Billy and his wife coach youth football, baseball and basketball, including their children, ages 7, 9, and 12. A Vice President for Barclaycard, US, Billy is an active community member, serving PCA as well as the boards of Bishop Museum, Ke Alii Pauahi Foundation, and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
